The Financial Intervention Taskforce Committee (FITC) leads global action in combating money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing. We research on how money is laundered, terrorism funded, and nuclear proliferated to promotes global standards in mitigating the risks, while assessing whether countries are taking effective action.
Combating money laundering has been the bedrock of the FITC. Our key strategies include legislation and enforcement, financial institutions implementing Know Your Customer (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML) policies, multi-layered approach of regulations, raising awareness and reporting suspicious activity.
Terrorism activities including trafficking weapons, drugs or people, or kidnapping, has been a major global concerns for the decades. The FITC's has developed practices such as conducting complete risk assessments, establishing effective compliance and transaction monitoring program to restrict access to funding for suspected terrorists.
Our counter-proliferation strategies include strengthening international treaties, implementing robust export controls such as the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), disrupting financial networks, reporting suspicious activities and using intelligence and law enforcement to intercept shipments and dismantle networks.

These includes Strengthening legal frameworks, increasing transparency and oversight, implementing e-government solutions, protecting whistleblowers and reformed public services.

As that, the FITC has establish key strategies such as digital literacy, financial countermeasures, capacity building, content moderation and collaboration to combat the digital exploitation by terrorists.
